A group of 12 walkers from Cambridgeshire and the Eastern region led by Tim Holmes of Endurance Estates completed a challenging 120km walk from Sosian Ranch in the Laikipia area of Kenya to Borana Ranch.
The team endured temperatures of over 30 degrees whilst walking up to 28km per day across a variety of terrains made harder by recent heavy rains and long grass.
The group were delighted to see both Black and White Rhino thriving at the Ol Jogi and Borana Conservancies.
Over £13,000 has been raised so far for the Kenya Range Expansion Plan which aims to take down fences between the existing ranches to allow the rhino to roam more freely. This will extend their area of habitat, encourage breeding and expand the protected land which benefits the rhino as well as the wider ecosystem.
